This achievement certifies that we are taking concrete steps to reduce our environmental impact and constantly improve the sustainability of our hotel.

At our hotel, we have long been committed to continuous improvement in the area of sustainability, implementing various initiatives. We have phased out the use of single-use plastics, replacing them with reusable and biodegradable products, and installed automatic detergent dispensing systems in the laundry.

Collaboration with our partners to promote environmentally friendly forms of transport is very important, and we have also installed motion sensors in communal areas and corridors, thereby reducing energy consumption. As regards the management and administration of the facility, we have digitised our work processes to avoid paper waste and are working to eliminate the use of paper correspondence entirely across the various departments.

To encourage the use of public transport, we collaborate with Ticino Turismo and offer our guests the Ticino Ticket, which allows free use of public transport throughout Ticino and includes discounts on local attractions.

In terms of management, we have digitised our work plan to reduce paper waste and are committed to eliminating the use of paper correspondence between the various departments. We are a company that promotes equality, with fair working conditions and a balanced representation of men and women. We provide ongoing training for our staff and are committed to supporting a healthy work-life balance.

We actively participate in the programme Cause We Care, which enables us to directly involve our guests in climate protection. With a small voluntary contribution from both the guest and the accommodation provider, the CO₂ emissions generated during the stay are offset, and part of the funds is allocated to three projects that are very close to our hearts:

• Project 1: 7192 Water Purification PoA Uganda
  The programme supports schools and health centres in Uganda by providing new water treatment technologies, reducing the consumption of firewood and coal, cutting CO₂ emissions and improving the living conditions and health of thousands of people.

• Project 2: 7186 Afforestation Taking Root Nicaragua
  CommuniTree is a participatory reforestation initiative in Nicaragua, which helps to restore ecosystems, support local communities and combat climate change by integrating tree planting into existing farming practices.

• Project 3: 7223 REDD Yaeda Tanzania
  The project promotes forest conservation and the land rights of indigenous peoples in Tanzania, preventing deforestation and safeguarding biodiversity between the Yaeda Valley and the Ngorongoro Plateau.

The project guarantees land rights to the indigenous population and strengthens the implementation of municipal land-use plans through forest conservation activities. The resulting reduction in deforestation prevents the release of greenhouse gases into the atmosphere and ensures connectivity between the natural habitats of endangered animal species living between the Yaeda Valley and the Ngorongoro Plateau.

Thanks to this system, we not only offset our environmental impact but also invest in improving local sustainability, making every stay a conscious and responsible choice.
